Types of Demons

Demon

  • “an evil spirit or devil, especially one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell”

For those who believe in demons and demonic forces, it is believed that there are many different types of demons and different types of demonic forces that can be putting the living in danger. It is with great importance that you read this along with that common sense voice that you have in your head. There are those that believe anything negative or bad is linked to demons or negative spirits. Those people need help. Even within the paranormal world around us, not everything with bad intent is a demon. It is believed that spirits are in death the way that they were in life. So should you be struggling with a negative and mean spirit, there is a possibility that they were just an unpleasant person in life. Do not immediately start panicking about demons. It is also important to keep in mind that demons and types of demons will differ depending on the culture and religious beliefs of those involved. I intend to cover the types of demons that are somewhat universal amongst all. Which makes it a fairly short list, but relevant.

Vengeful

Vengeful

  • “seeking to harm someone in return for a perceived injury”

The term “injury” in this sense is fairly broad. This could refer to any kind of action that causes damage. Be it physical or mental or emotional. I am sure that most of us have experienced all of these kinds of damage. All of them are equally as difficult to recover from. A vengeful demon will feel betrayed or hurt by a group of people or possibly the human race in its entirety. These demons will convince the living to carry out their revenge. They will often convince the living that they have also received some form of harm from the target in order to convince them more easily to carry out the revenge that they believe is required.

False Gods

As I am sure you can gather from the name, these appear in the form of a God or sometimes a messenger from a God. The living target will often be promised all sorts of wonderful things in return for following “God’s orders”. An example of this is those that cause harm to “unruly children” because God told them that those children need to be cleansed in order to get into heaven. There are a shocking amount of cases like this. Those affected are usually extremely dedicated to their religion and are completely convinced that they are being visited by their God. This is because the devout ones are easier to convince. They believe they are being rewarded for their dedication by carrying out their God’s orders. They are led to believe that they are “the chosen one” I guess.

Other than being led to believe that they are above the rest of the population, they are told of wonderful rewards. Often their illness will appear to be doing better, they feel that their luck has turned around or signs of clairvoyance will become present. This is what is used to convince them that what they are doing is good. The same way you would train a dog with treats. Of course, nothing good ever really comes from their actions.

Furies

Furies are demons that act only out of wild or violent anger. There is no established, one idea as to how these manifest or pick a victim but as with most demons, they go where there is enough negativity for them to feed off of. They seem to pick a victim at random and alienate them from everyone and everything that keeps them somewhat sane. Because they require negativity they are most likely found in homes with failing marriages, drug use or prisons etc. Victims affected by these demons are prone to sudden and violent outbursts, often with little recollection of the event afterwards. Once the outbursts are done they will display signs of serious remorse and guilt. Right up until the next outburst. They will often have no idea why they got angry with little explanation as to what set them off. Phrases like “I suddenly saw red and felt angrier than I ever have before” are common with these kind of demonic victims.

None of what I have written about here is in any way an excuse for this kind of behaviour. Humans are in control of their own actions and need to be held responsible for them. Unless, of course, you have alien hand syndrome. In which case you are not responsible for the actions of your one hand. However, even then there are steps you can take to avoid causing harm to others. It is also important to remember that not everything that matches these descriptions is caused by demons or a demonic presence. Accusations of demonic negativity or possession can lead to serious mental harm and can become abusive. It is also important to state that processes such as exorcisms are only useful in extreme cases and cannot be performed by just anyone. There are too many cases of exorcisms going horribly wrong and ending in tragedy.

Most of the behaviour explained above can also be explained by mental disorders and mental illness. Should someone you love be displaying any of these characteristics it is important that they go for evaluation before any conclusions are made. Telling someone with these behaviours that it is due to a demonic force can cause them to believe you and remove responsibility from their actions. This causes them to give in to their negative thoughts because they believe “it is not me, it is the demon”. This is unsafe for anybody and everybody involved. If you do not believe me, then I suggest you read my other blog about demonic possessions.
