Dream Walking

Dream walking is a form of lucid dreaming to another extent. The theory is that you unwillingly, or willingly enter another person’s dream and can see what they see. Other than that you also have the ability to change what is happening in their dream. While we are dreaming we are at our most vulnerable. Our subconscious is free to express itself and our senses are all taking a break. Although there is very little information out there on dream walking I managed to find articles by people who have tried it and to a certain extent succeeded at it. I have decided to take information from all these people and compile it into a few things that were a common thread through all the articles.

One thing that was mentioned often is that you do not have to be asleep to walk through someone else’s dreams. It will also work if you are in a very deep state of meditation. Another bit of information that seemed to be a common denominator amongst everyone that has tried it is that it will work better if you attempt to walk through the dreams of someone you know well.

As with anything that includes an invasion of another’s privacy, there are some general ground rules:

  1. You cannot negatively influence someone else’s dream. Their subconscious will not allow it to happen; it will act as a bodyguard.

  2. You cannot make someone do something that they normally would never do. You can only go as far as to suggest what it is that you would like them to do. (Think Inception)

  3. If you goal is to convey a message, it will not work if you give it to them directly or in a manner that is too obvious. This will only cause them to wake up and day “I dreamed you gave me a note with the weirdest message on it”. Instead, use symbols and visuals to relay your message across. The more of a pattern you use with these visuals and symbols, the more likely they are to remember it when they wake up.

Now that you are fully aware of the rules and promise to stick to them (Hint, hint, nudge, nudge), let me lay out the basic steps of entering someone else’s dreams:

  1. You need to wait until about 90 minutes after your intended target has fallen asleep. This means that they have entered REM sleep. This means that they are in their dream state.

  2. You need to enter a deep state of meditation. As deep as you can until you have lost complete touch with everything around you.

  3. See the person in your mind. You need to imagine their energy and their personality and their aura. Once you have done that then you need to concentrate and travel through them and into their imaginary world. If you see weird or bizarre images then do not worry, you are in their imagination. You are, theoretically, seeing what they see.

  4. Once you have reached this point you can mentally create what it is that you want them to see.

I have not personally tried it. I would like to try it and I shall write about the experience in another blog post. So if you have ever had an out-of-the-blue dream about someone and it was a fairly unusual dream then you might have been visited by a dream walker.
